Welcome! I am so glad you are visiting my site!
My name is Kayla. I am a Nurse Practitioner from the Midwest. I recently relocated to the Southwest in search of new opportunities, exciting experiences, and warmer weather!
For thirteen years I worked as a registered nurse doing a little bit of everything. I spent most of my career in the ICU, but also have experience in long-term care and ambulatory care. I also worked as a travel nurse for two years. I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to experience nursing care across the country. After COVID, I was so burnt out on bedside nursing, I decided to go back to school to become a Nurse Practitioner.
Throughout my career, I struggled with numerous physical and mental health issues as well as difficulties in my relationships. It was not until I started talking with friends and collogues that I recognized my experiences were not unique. I created this blog to let nurses everywhere know that you are not alone in the struggles that come with this profession. I have always loved to write and eventually decided what better way to help people than to create a space where nurses can come together and find resources and community to support us in this unique career.
In my spare time, I enjoy hiking and camping, running, and spending time with my dogs, Ranger and Kobe.
I hope you find this site helpful and please remember, you are not alone.
